Demystifying Eternal Youthful Appearance
We are a very visual generation. In a digital world where every experience, every moment can be captured and shared, it is a human tendency to want to project our best selves to the world. As medical advances have enabled us to live longer, the increases stresses and pressures of modern life, in contrast, also causes us to ‘age’ faster. From the beginning of time, human beings have been obsessed with the concept of perpetual youth. We want to maintain the appearance of optimal youth and energy for as long as we possibly can. The good news is that medical advances have provided us with the solution to this as well. Through the use of selected treatments, it is now possible to take years off anyone’s appearance.
The Aging Process Affects Us All
Ageing is a natural process yes, but through the proper care and treatment it is possible to delay the signs of ageing. As we age, men and women both tend to lose fat on their faces. Our cheeks, which were full and high when we were young can sink and develop a triangular shaped flat spot that can appear shaded and grooved. Many of us lose volume in the orbits of our eyes that result in eye circles that may or may not be dark in appearance. We also lose volume in our lips and other areas of the face. This lost volume allows the face to fall and contributes to the appearance of lip lines and the folds that appear at the sides and corners of the mouth. Even when we are young, lack of volume can make us look tired!
The Magic of Fillers
There are many factors that contribute to the ageing process. Lack of hydration, lack of a good skin care routine, illness, and stress are all lifestyle influences that can speed up the process of ageing. Because everyone is different, the treatment we use to combat aging must be tailored to you as an individual. One of the popular procedures commonly used to restore the contours and shape of your face, are Injectable Dermal Fillers. Fillers are used to enhance volume, erase wrinkles, augment lips, induce collagen production and overall restore the youthful contours of the face. There are many different types of dermal fillers and many manufacturers. At Beauty and Curves we use fillers that are made from Hyaluronic Acid which is a naturally-occurring substance in our skin. Fillers comes in many different consistencies ranging from Voluma™, a Juvederm™ product which is very thick, to Redensity II™ which is very fluid. For natural looking results it is important to use a filler with the right degree of viscosity in appropriate areas of the face.
All skin types can safely be treated with dermal fillers, but it required a skilled injector to be able to place the correct consistency and amount of filler to precisely replace or create volume to the areas of the face where it is needed. The skill and experience of the injector will very much dictate the outcome. At Beauty and Curves we have been carrying out this technique for more than a decade and use advanced treatment techniques to ensure that our patients are comfortable throughout the procedure.
Combining Treatments for Optimal Results
The results from filler can range from subtle to dramatic but it is important not to overdo it. Too much filler can look unnatural. Fillers can be combined with just about any other aesthetic treatment that exists. Some of the combination treatments we offer at Beauty and Curves are Carboxy Therapy, Laser Resurfacing, and Botox to smooth wrinkles and rejuvenate the skin. At Beauty and Curves we also specialize in the treatment of darker skin tones. we realize it may be a bit daunting to know which treatment you need, which is why your first consultation includes a comprehensive assessment by one of the doctors, a Visia Facial Skin Analysis, and a Quad Body Scan.
If you would like to investigate the numerous anti-ageing options that are available, call and schedule a consultation. Our style of consultation is relaxed and educational. Our goal is to address your concerns in the order of your priorities and give you all of the information you need to make an informed decision. This will help you choose the right treatment or combination of treatments to achieve the result you desire.
