Speaking positively about yourself should be a habit, it should be something that you do on a daily basis without even thinking about it. Get into the habit of being positive.
We are taught by society that it is not okay to be who we are, we are taught that we need to be something else or we need to fit into a certain description in order to be accepted.
We have all been judged at some point in our lives and most people who do the judging fail to realise that we are all on a different path. One person’s ways are not the way of the world. Sometimes people fail to realise that they don’t even have enough experience in a specific subject to even offer advice or judge.
So what? Yes. So what if someone thinks my dreams are too small to their liking? So what if someone thinks I’m not capable of being a successful female entrepreneur? So what if someone thinks I’m not capable and lack skills to run a profitable company? How is that any of my business?
I love what I do and I feel blessed to wake up to do my work everyday, but there are times when I feel uninspired to do the things that I need to do, in order to continue full speed on my journey to success.
That instance where all you can think about is hurting or harming them … when you are begging “Karma” to deal with them.
What does Women’s Day, Women’s Month and being a woman in South Africa, mean to me? Why do I celebrate being a woman?
The answer is quite simple … dreams don’t come true by themselves. You need to set goals in order to turn your dreams into reality. I have always had the dream but I have never set a real goal to make my dream come true. Dreams are imaginary and can go on forever … and that’s ok if dreaming is all you want to do.
I know they will watch me like a couple of hawks the first few times I do anything with their new baby … just to make sure my baby skills are up to scratch … (I’ll just pretend that I don’t see them … LOL)
We can’t be afraid of change. We have to step out of our comfort zone and embrace it. Sometimes it means going against what is expected of you by family and society but If you don’t take a leap of faith and trust yourself, you will never know what lies beyond your horizon.
