Win With Kids Emporium Morningside

I can’t wait to take Kairo on her first visit to the beach …

She has become such a water baby and it warms my heart watching her lying flat on her back in the bath, with just her little face sticking out, kicking and splashing … such a happy sight (-:

It did not start out this way. When Kairo was born she did not enjoy bathing at all. It was the most stressful part of the day as she would cry from the moment we undressed her, right through her bath and until she was fully dressed again. It was no fun at all. She felt very insecure in the water and I had to do something to comfort her.

I tried taking her into my bath with me. I held her close and talked to her while we took a bath together. This made a huge difference. Later on, as she became more comfortable, we introduced a floating device, designed for babies, for her to float on in the bath. She still loves this.

At three months old, I now have a baby who loves water! I am so happy that I did not force her at any stage.

She now loves bath time, whether it is in her Stokke Flexi bath or the normal bath. Bath time is fun! She enjoyed her first “swim” in her Stokke Flexi bath in the garden recently and in January she is starting swimming classes!

Such memorable moments … Bring on summer!

My big girl is 5 months 3 weeks. She and water have been friends since day one.
My best moment was when we visited France when she was about three months and for her 3 months birthday she went for a swim in her favourite tube. She didn’t cry at all and tried to push herself around the pool. She was so excited that she cried when I took her out. Great moments!

My 9.5 months old Lereko is a water loving boy and it’s been a hustle to take him out of the water since day 1. I tried bath toys and they just stimulated him more. As a mom you can’t stop trying to outsmart your little one, therefore I bought him that bath chair and used the main bath and filled it up, bathed him. I could see he was enjoying it and if I attempt to take him out he would scream. I removed the stopper and let the water run out????…… He was just too confused to even throw a tantrum.

My daughter is turning 8 months old in the next few days.
Its funny how she used to cry when it was bath time, but now its totally the opposite she cries wen she has to get out of water. She enjoys playing with Mr duck and the inflatables we bought her. She screams and splashes the water everywhere leaving so much work for me. But then i enjoy every #moment with her…. Can’t wait for our 1st day out on the beach rocking that sleazy costume and bucket hat.

Well my gorgeous baby girl is 2 months and bath time has improved. It was hell i would drag bath time because i knew it was an angry moment for my angel. Whenever id put her legs in the water she would scream and cry at the top of her lungs and as a first time mom it made me think i wasnt doing it right. Recently i have learned to communicate with her so when its bath time i say ‘water my love mommys got you’ i dont know how but it really helps n bath time has been way better. Now bath time is playing n bonding time with mommy.

I’m so glad I saw this post and the comments. I’m going through the difficult stage right now, I absolutely drag bath time because I can’t stand to hear her cry like that. I honestly thought I was doing something wrong too. I can’t wait for the day she starts enjoying it gosh! It’s really a nightmare!

You know it’s really nice to learn from other mothers who are going through the same thing or mothers who’ve been through what you’re going through, it gives you some sort of hope and reassurance that everything will be just fine.

Can you create some sort of a group or an app or something for new mothers and expecting ladies to share experiences and info? I had an app I downloaded when I was pregnant but most of the time I couldn’t get much help from it because it’s a US app and the products they would mention there I couldn’t find here in SA. I searched for SA pregnancy group apps but nothing.

It would really help a lot of people and I know it would help me on this scary journey.

Sorry I’m commenting this late at night on your posts lol I just fed my munchie and now I can’t sleep…

Please consider the pregnancy group suggestion.
